Dandelion Karrinyup

Dandelion is a surprising culinary find, found within the bustling Karrinyup Shopping Centre. Here, you could be at any trendy restaurant on a Subiaco, Vic Park or Leederville strip, not mere meters from Aldi! From the team behind city favourites, The Standard, The Royal and Fleur, its inviting ambience will bring you to the shopping centre again and again – even if you’re not there for a retail experience.

Located amidst the vibrant Karrinyup entertainment precinct, amongst other restaurants and cafés, Dandelion provides a welcome respite for shoppers. As you step inside, you immediately forget about the concrete jungle behind you and are greeted by an elegant, chic space. This creates a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for meeting friends for leisurely conversations over lunch. My tip is to head upstairs and grab a table on the balcony if you can. Their wine list is interesting with NZ, Eastern Australian and Euro inclusions, plus the cocktail menu is excellent.

The menu at Dandelion is thoughtfully crafted by their renowned chefs. Like many Perth restaurants, there’s a focus on share food and the cuisine here has a distinctly modern Asian twist. Think small bites, wok fried dishes (the scallop pad Thai is the real deal) and hearty WA meats cooked over fire. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also on the menu. I was there to meet friends over some drinks and nibbles, here’s what we had:

Potato gems, fire dust, garlic yoghurt dip.

A fresh Kingfish crudo, with cane vinegar, finger lime, and Geraldton wax.

Prawn crackers with red duck curry, and roasted coconut cream.

Conveniently situated within Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Dandelion is easily accessible for older patrons. Whether you’re taking a break from shopping or looking for a tasty meal after running errands, Dandelion provides a welcoming retreat. The restaurant’s proximity to parking facilities (as well as the lift to the valet parking) makes it very easy to get to.
