Taylors in the Valley, Middle Swan

Taylors has long been a brunch stalwart of the Swan Valley. Found just off Great Northern Highway, the rustic, quirky little cafe is a wonderful spot to dine – indoors or out.

The cafe has nooks and plenty of tables to pull up a chair. We were lucky enough to get a spot in “the tank”, a cosy nook for four, in an old, corrugated iron water tank!

The interior of the cafe has a warm, homely feel. The cafe is a series of rooms filled with timber tables. Small and intimate, rather than the large open expanses in modern cafes.

In the center of the cafe, an art gallery showcases the work of Jude Taylor.

The cafes menu centers on fresh, locally grown produce. There are lots of popular breakfast choices, plus plenty of options for gluten free, vegetarian or vegan diets. If you are a cake lover, you’ll be happy to hear the cake fridge has plenty of sweet treats to tempt you. We enjoyed good coffee, and herbal teas.

The vegetarian big breakfast was delicious, with sauteed spinach, mushroom, tomato, zucchini, relish, eggs how you like and hash browns. My dad couldn’t resist ordering a side of bacon too.

I loved the “Benny”. Eggs benedict with delicious slow cooked BBQ pulled pork (on GF bread). The eggs were perfectly poached, topped with creamy hollandaise and crispy onions.

The garden at Taylor’s cafe is filled with eclectic sculptures made from rusty old machinery, scrap metal, and mismatched furniture.

It has a casual ambience under the huge gum trees. This makes for a shady grandchild and dog friendly space, with bowls for the fur babies and a big sandpit, toys and mud kitchen for the grandbabies.

After you’ve had a warm dink and bite to eat, head to the Shed at the back of the courtyard.

Lets be honest, who doesn’t enjoy fossicking around a bit of bric a brac?! There’s plenty of retro finds, including crockery and vinyl.

Taylor’s is a great place for a leisurely breakfast or lunch in the Swan Valley. Or why not meet friends for a delicious morning or afternoon tea. It’s great to see Taylors is a tasty as ever!
