After a wander around Elizabeth Quay, on a whim we decided to grab lunch at Six Senses. We were hungry, and easily enticed by the modern Thai restaurant’s lunch special of $16.50 for a main dish. Great value for a city restaurant. The interior of the new-ish spot is modern and a little lavish – well it is next door to the Ritz! We chose a little booth, by a water feature, to dine. There’s also a very stylish bar area at Six Senses. The restaurant is fully licensed, though they allow BYO wine, for a corkage fee.

There’s lots of food choice on the menu – pad Thai, satay and much more. Even the lunch special is a mix and match of meats and methods (choose from noodle, curry or stir fry dishes). The serving sizes are generous. I chose the beef with stir fried veg and rice. While it was a very tasty dish, with oodles of flavour, though I did find the meat dry.

The crispy pork belly dish was a big hit. And don’t worry – there is also regular cutlery if you’re not confident to eat with chopsticks.

Service is ok. The restaurant wasn’t busy (a mid-week lunchtime), it did seem a little understaffed.

The lunch special provides great value for money when dining at Elizabeth Quay. This is very much your westernised suburban Thai restaurant – with a brilliant view of the city skyline and the Swan River. You can also find Six Senses in Subiaco and Leederville.
