Bellevue Cottage, Bellevue

Bellevue Cottage Bellevue

Tucked away just outside of Midland, Bellevue Cottage is a new (but 120-year-old) café that’s well worth a visit. If you’re a fan of heritage charm and good coffee, this place is for you. I stopped by recently for a sticky beak and enjoyed their freshly brewed coffee paired with a slice of warmed banana bread. But what really made the morning tea stand out, was the lovely setting.

The cottage is randomly found in an industrial estate, just off the busy Roe Highway. Opened just a week ago, I found it had a mixed queue of tradies in fluro, retirees, and mums with bubs at the counter. After ordering and taking a buzzer, I settled into one of Bellevue Cottage’s three cosy heritage rooms. All have been beautifully renovated and have many original features, like stunning fireplaces, that takes you back in time.

Outside, there’s a large covered outdoor area, which is dog-friendly too. This is a very pleasant space and also offers a few “garden games” and blocks for little ones to play with.

Bellevue Cottage Bellevue

Currently, there is no menu at Bellevue Cottage, though the cabinet has a selection of sweet and savoury options like toasties, fresh wraps and muffins.

The banana bread was served warm and buttered, perfectly spiced, and it also contained walnuts. The coffee, by Perth roasters Karvan, is good. My flat white was served in a take away cup, though I did say I was dining in. I’m not sure if this is the norm, or not. I’d definitely prefer to enjoy my coffee out of a mug.

Bellevue Cottage Bellevue

If you’re in the Midland area, be sure to check out Bellevue Cottage – it’s a lovely spot to treat yourself. It’s easy to forget you’re in the heart of an industrial estate! Whether you’re after a quiet space, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a cup of coffee, Bellevue Cottage offers the perfect vintage vibe.
