There’s something special about a country pub, and the Dardanup Tavern is a real standout in the Ferguson Valley. Tucked away in the heart of Dardanup, this spot is all about good food, friendly faces, and that laid-back charm you only find in small towns.

The tavern itself has a welcoming, old-school feel. Think polished timber, a cosy bar, a dining room, and a big verandah and beer garden perfect for sunny days.

The menu is packed with all the pub classics: generous serves of fish and chips, steak sandwiches, and a chicken parmi that’s hard to beat.

Portions are hearty, my tasty chorizo, feta and roast pumpkin salad was twice as big as it needed to be (thank goodness for doggy bags). Each day there is a daily special or two if you’re in the mood to try something different.

What really makes the Dardanup Tavern shine is the atmosphere – there’s a genuine sense of community. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a leisurely lunch, or just pop by for a drink and a chat.

It’s also a great option if you are exploring the Ferguson Valley. We were staying there mid-week and found that many of the wineries and breweries are only open on weekends. The Dardy is open 7 days a week. After a morning wandering bush trails in Wellington National Park or admiring the rolling green hills of the Ferguson Valley, the tavern is the perfect spot to refuel and relax. There’s plenty of parking (it can get busy on weekends, especially with the popular Dardanup Baker just down the road).

If you’re looking for a classic country pub experience with all the trimmings, Dardanup Tavern is well worth a visit. Found just 20 minutes from Bunbury, it’s a little slice of country life, served up with a side of great food and genuine hospitality.
