The Lake House, Denmark

The Lake House is a Winery, Cellar Door, Restaurant at 106 Turner Road Denmark that we give a big . We have been here twice and on both occasions found it to be a very pleasant experience. Driving into the winery you will immediately see where it got its name, a gorgeous lake spreads itself in front of the restaurant which has lovely grassed areas with picnic style seating, the majority of the tables are under the verandah.We visited on a Tuesday which we thought might not be so busy but were surprised to see so many people, we soon understood why. It’s difficult to find anything to criticise, the service, cellar door, food and quality of the merchandise in their shop was excellent. The shop has a wide range of Vinofood condiments which you are welcome to taste and a range of Wine Spa body care products.We had a small well presented cheese board with locally made condiments and a bottle of 2015 Lake House Shiraz for a little over $50.The Lake House is rated highly by James Halliday and has won multiple tourism awards. Searching for a winery that has that unspoiled, unpretentious feel, that is quiet, with a nice comfortable homely feel, ambiance and a menu and wine list that doesn’t bust your wallet, the Lake House in Denmark is a good choice. If you want a little more, large gourmet platters and premium wines are also on offer.The Lake House is 4 kms from town and is down 1km of good gravel road with ample parking and easy access and disabled parking. Bus groups welcome.

Denmark is a charming small town with a laid back atmosphere nestled between forests of tall trees and spectacular coastline.
So if you visit Denmark and want to spend a day relaxing and seeing some of our beautiful country, take the tourist drive around Scottsdale and Mt Shadforth roads, where there are many interesting places to visit and make sure The Lake House is one of them.
