The historic tram service at Whiteman Park has entered an exciting new chapter with the opening of the Morley-Ellenbrook train line, making this beloved attraction more accessible than ever. The new Entrance tram stop, adjacent to Whiteman Park station, provides a seamless connection between modern public transport and heritage rail.
The Tram Experience
Step back in time aboard one of Perth’s beautifully restored vintage electric trams. These historic vehicles, some dating back to the early 1900s from Perth’s original tram network, now offer a delightful 4km journey through the natural bushland of Whiteman Park. The 30-minute ride provides the perfect opportunity to spot native wildlife, including kangaroos and various bird species, while knowledgeable volunteer drivers share fascinating historical commentary.
Getting There
If you are using public transport, the new Morley-Ellenbrook line offers convenient access to the park. Plan to arrive at Whiteman Park Station just before 11:00am to catch the first tram connection at 11:10am from the Entrance stop. This will take you directly to the Village, where most attractions are located.

Route and Stops
The tram service follows a dedicated track with stops at:
- Village (main departure point)
- Entrance (connecting with Whiteman Park Station)
- Mussel Pool
- Pia’s Place
- Village Junction
- Carbarn (special workings only)
Operating Hours
Services run at approximately 30-minute intervals during these times (subject to fire restrictions):
- Tuesday & Friday: 11:00am – 1:30pm
- Saturday: 11:00am – 4:00pm
- Sunday & Public Holidays: 11:00am – 4:30pm
- School Holidays (Weekdays): 11:00am – 3:00pm
Cost
Currently, the tram rides are FREE for everyone until at least December 2025, making it an excellent opportunity for multiple visits throughout the year.
