If you drive up Wanneroo Road, north of Joondalup, you may have spotted this spot perched high on a hill, but never knew just what a gem it is. I’m guilty of driving past The Ocean View Tavern many times, not realising what I was missing out on! There’s delicious pub food, a great beer garden, live entertainment, and even (as the name suggests!) a sea vista.
The tavern’s cosy interior features plenty of seating, but this is a pub built for sunny days and enjoying a beer garden atmosphere.
The kitchen at Ocean View Tavern boasts a diverse menu that caters to many tastes. From hearty pub classics like fish and chips and steak sandwiches to lighter options like salads and seafood, there’s a wide variety to choose from. The tavern also offers an extensive drinks list and a selection of craft beers, providing the perfect accompaniment to your meal. We enjoyed a few share plates – calamari, sticky pork belly, chorizo and more.

Plus, just a ten-minute drive to Yanchep National Park, it makes a great place to stop after a morning of exploring walk trails and caves.
