Hopetoun Motel and Chalets

If you are looking for a great place to stay, short term or extended when exploring the Great Southern, Hopetoun Motel ticks all the boxes. We wanted a short getaway and no fuss accommodation and the Hopetoun Motel couldn’t have been more perfect.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsLocated on the main drag, it is a short walk to conveniences such as the IGA, local supermarket, café, bakery, the visitors centre, restaurant, pub and a playground. Just a bit further you can walk along the main wharf and enjoy a quick dip or a spot of fishing. You can buy bait at the local supermarket.Hopetoun Lovely rammed earth rooms, that thankfully, one of the last places in the great southern available at Christmas time, we were happily impressed. The room is spacious and clean. Our room was semi self-contained and had everything we needed including a microwave, fridge, kettle and even a toaster so we could cook up breaky and a few snacks in those in-between times.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsThe bathroom was well equipped and everything was in good working order.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsThere are also laundry facilities which is great when you’re on the road for an extended period. It was nice to stroll around the grounds and there is a lovely grassed area to sit an watch life go by. Enjoy alfresco dining under the gazebo and there is also BBQ facilities for guests to utilise.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsFree WiFi is also available to all guests, which was handy. There are some fantastic accommodation options including 2 bedroom chalets, 3 bedroom townhouse and the 3 bedroom harbor master Quarters.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsPlenty to do and see and the perfect place to rest your head at the end of the day after exploring this wonderful corner of the world.Hopetoun Motel and ChaletsThe location is definitely a win and everything is right on your doorstep. The town seemed safe, clean and well equipped and being that close to the ocean was fantastic!

About Kerry Lane

I am 67 years of age and retired. I was born and bred in Perth but now live with my husband, Michael, in Albany, Western Australia. We have four children and six grandchildren. I have always enjoyed sports but my passion was basketball in which I played and attained State level. I coached at both junior and senior levels. I was also the team manager for the Perth Quit Breakers (now known as the Perth Lynx) for many years and was on the Board of the WA Basketball Association. I worked for Woodside Energy for 19 years before transferring to Darwin with my husband, also a Woodsider, who took up management of the Northern Territory operations of the company. I was the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Govt. during my time there before retiring. My husband and I then travelled around Australia in a caravan for a year before finally settling for a seachange in Albany. We built a house at beautiful Goode Beach, joined the Albany Golf Club and started to explore our surrounds. We have made many friends since arriving in Albany and family and friends from near and far enjoy visiting and experiencing our part of the world. We are heavily involved in the Golf Club which keeps us busy. I enjoy reading, wining, dining, good friends and still love to travel both here in Oz and overseas.
