The Armadale Library is located inside the Armadale Central Shopping Centre in Armadale. The perfect spot to get your shopping done, stop for a cuppa or lunch and pick up a good read! Why not enjoy one of the many regular events or attend a workshop or even join one of the many groups.
Membership to the library is free and anyone can join. Just bring along any identification with your current address, such as a drivers license, rates notice, pension card or a bill. They have a great selection of books and resources in large print. Just ask the friendly staff to point you in the right direction if you can’t locate what you need.
You will receive a membership card which needs to be shown whenever you wish to borrow items. You can borrow up to 12 items for 3 weeks which can be renewed twice, as long as they haven’t been booked. You can do this from the convenience of your home either online or by phone.
Your membership gives you access to not only Armadale but also to Kelmscott and Seville Grove libraries, where you can return and borrow from them too.
For those who have grandchildren, Armadale Library has a lovely childrens section at the back of the building, which is conveniently next to the Birtwistle Study Centre! There are some lovely resources and plenty to keep little ones busy while you explore!
Armadale Library has some fantastic workshops, meetings and groups that run regularly as well as special events.
Technology Buddies
This is a popular event for those who may need a little assistance getting a hold on modern day tech troubles. Who better to ask than teenagers! Students from Dale Christian School can help out with laptops, iPad, tablets, mobile phones, cameras and much more.
These are run on specific Wednesdays from 12:30pm – 1:30pm and you must book.

Games Morning:
This is a wonderful way enjoy some old favourites in good company. Board games include Backgammon, Monopoly, Uno, Battleships and Dominoes. Sessions are free every Monday morning.
Armadale Writersโ Group:
For all writing enthusiasts to develop or hone your craft in an interactive and encouraging environment. All are welcome to join every Wednesday from 9:30am – 11:30am
Inklings Writers Group:
Enjoy this warm and welcoming group every Thursday evening from 5:45pm – 7:45pm. Each week alternates with WIP sessions (Work in Progress) and informative workshops with guest speakers. All are welcome. $5 per session. Contact Gemma or Carolyn: inklingswritersworkshop@gmail.comย

Enjoy this foodie group that meets monthly to share recipes and tasty treats.ย Join in the fun on the first Friday of each month 10:30am – 11:30am
Family Tree Group:
Join fellow family history researchers every last Thursday of the month from 10am – 12pm.
Birtwistle Local Studies Library:
Armadale Library is a must visit for all your local history and family history needs. Not only do they have a Genelogy group but the Birtwistle Local Studies Library is a wealth of information. Located at the back end of the library, volunteers are ready to assist you in any enquiries you may have about your own family history orย the history of Armadale, surrounds and Western Australian history in general.
