Claisebrook Cove has been around for about 20 years, though until now we had never visited the hidden East Perth spot. Once an industrial area with gasworks, old scrapyards, warehouses, and railway yards, it was transformed in the 1990s. The pretty riverside area is a hub of bustling cafes, restaurants and The Royal pub. The inlet is perfect for a gentle stroll, which is why we were there – and for a cuppa.
We stopped by The Partisan, an all day dining venue that specialises in brunch and burgers.
There’s plenty of tables outside (all with shade from large umbrellas) to enjoy the river view from and watch the boats go by. It’s a glorious spot for a coffee!
And speaking of coffee… The coffee at the Partisan is good, a local Darkstar roast is used.
While we had only stopped by for a drink, there’s many cakes and sandwiches in the cabinet, as well as a big all-day menu with all the breakfast, brunch and lunch favourites.
And if you’re taking a walk with your furry friend, they will be welcome to lay at your feet and lap up the sunshine in the alfresco area.
We found the service both friendly and prompt. The Partisan is just one of many reasons to take a trip to the brilliant Claisebrook Cove!
