Alleycats Espresso, Hillarys

Alleycats Espresso Hillarys

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a brilliant spot to meet up with friends for a coffee and cake. My favourite spot to grab a coffee there is Alleycats Espresso. It’s easily found on the southwest side of the boardwalk, near to an exit onto the boat marina.

As well as the coffee being top notch (a crowd-pleasing smooth roast), they have a good selection of cabinet eats from bacon and egg bagels and sausage rolls to raw treats and cookies.

On previous visits, the baristas have nailed my flat white order. This time around I ordered an iced latte, it being a scorching hot summers day. Iced lattes are similar to iced coffees, minus the indulgent cream and iced cream. Predominately, this is a takeaway, though there are a few tables and chairs. If you snag a spot at the bench seat, you’ll get a great view of the marina.

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a departure point for Rottnest Fast Ferries, and Allycats Espresso is right on the way to the ferry! Better still, they open super early at 6am, seven days a week, so you can easily get your early morning caffeine fix (and extra energy for pedaling a bike) before departing.

While you’re at Hillarys Boat Harbour, enjoy a browse around the shops. Sorrento Quay is full of clothing boutiques, jewellers, homewares, gourmet foods, souvenir shops and much more. There’s plenty to treat yourself to or enjoy a little window shopping. Or simply find a shady spot on the lawns or sand to sip your coffee.

Or, why not grab a grande and take a walk around one of the three easy walk trails at Hillarys Boat Harbour? These flat, paved trails are just another reason to visit this northern suburbs destination. From the beach, to shopping, to discovering the lighthouse and its views from the viewing platform – there’s lots to see and do at Hillarys. Map from Department of Transport.

The seaside spot is compact and flat, making it a great place for a wander around the attractions, shops, parklands and beautiful beaches with a coffee – plus the parking is FREE.

Be sure to seek out Alleycats Espresso for you next caffine hit in the northern suburbs of Perth.
