Café Chérie, Pinjarra

Cafe Cherie Pinjarra

Love a French fancy? Well, if you live in Perth’s south or you’re heading to the southwest – be sure to stop in at Café Chérie Pinjarra! The patisserie (formerly Raven Winery) opened in August 2023, and is found on Pinjarra Road, just before you enter the town. The rows of grapevines have made way for a large car park. This is needed, as boy, this spot is already very popular! The charming café is perfect for those craving a taste of France in the Peel region. Incidentally, Café Cherie has a sister venue at Mandurah’s Dolphin Quay.

The interior is light and open, with plenty of tables by a fireplace that is sure to be cosy in winter. I visited on a sunny early spring day, many people were enjoying a little sunshine on the partially shaded deck. Café Chérie’s indoor plant-filled café is open for breakfast (until late morning), lunch and coffee and cake.

The many cabinets brim with many different pastries, from colourful macarons, to flaky tarts, and delicate slices of cake.

If you love a fresh croissant, classic crepes or a cheesy croque madame, the breakfast and lunch menus have plenty of choices, including some gluten-free and vegetarian options. I loved the berry cake. I was pleased to see many gluten-free options. Café Chérie’s buttery, flaky croissant got the big thumbs up too.

If you have grandkids in tow, Café Chérie caters for them with high chairs and colouring sheets. They can explore the shaded wooden fort playground, and there are tables nearby.

Service was very friendly, though there was a wait for coffee. The new spot is very popular, and we visited at the beginning of a long weekend. Café Chérie is very close to Ranger Red’s Zoo (previously Peel Zoo) where there are lots of Aussie animals. If you’re looking for brunch spot in a lovely setting, Cafe Cherie ticks all the boxes.

Find Café Chérie at 41 Wilson Road, Pinjarra.
