‘Coffee Coffee Coffee’! Did that get your attention? It sure got mine! If you’re heading down south and find yourself driving into the beautiful seaside town of Augusta, keep your eyes peeled for a little slice of coffee heaven. A sandwhich board on the side of Bussell Highway hints at a ‘gem’ hidden away amongst the peppermint trees, down a gravel track. At the entrance of the Westbay Retreat Caravan Park is a lovely little spot called Contained Coffee.
It’s one of those “if you know, you know” places that perfectly captures the relaxed, coastal vibe of the region. Open seasonally during the warmer months, the pretty container the ideal place to pull over and stretch your legs amongst its lush surroundings. The opening times can vary, depending on the time of the year, so it’s best to consult Google, or their socials before you visit.
The setting is just lovely. Shaded by the trees with plenty of lush plants, fresh air, and a beautiful black cockatoo mural, making it a wonderful spot to sit back on a bench and sip on a great brew.
I grabbed a flat white, and a hot chocolate (with marshmallow) for my son. Both hit the spot.
The service is as warm as the Augusta sunshine, and they have a cabinet stocked with fresh bakes that are hard to resist. Whether you’re a local, staying at the caravan park (lucky you!) or just passing through, Contained Coffee is a peaceful little oasis to enjoy a quiet moment before heading into town.
