Lot 39 Café, Goomalling

If you take a 130 kilometer drive east of Perth, you’ll find yourself in the wheatbelt community of Goomalling, at the northern tip of the Avon Valley. The small country town is a place where time seems to slow down, and the warm hospitality of its residents greets you at the local cafe. This surprising gem, Lot 39 Café, brings a touch of the city to the sleepy town. Lot 39 Café is more than just a café; it’s a gift store and gathering place that brings people together over cups of coffee and house baked treats. This cafe has become a hub in Goomalling’s close-knit community.

As you step inside the bustling Lot 39, you’re hit with the aroma of good coffee and an array of gourmet bites that are a treat for the taste buds. Their menu features toasted sandwiches, pastries, and sweets.

Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savoury, Lot 39 has something to please every palate. I enjoyed a very tasty gourmet ruben toastie and cup of coffee – which could have been brewed by a Beaufort Street barista. The tasty toastie was packed with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, horseradish, cheddar and more. Wraps and rolls are also on the menu, as well as a small selection of brunch favourites.

One of the unique aspects of Lot 39 is its selection of quality gifts and homewares. The gift shop within the café, has handcrafted items, local artisan products, and thoughtful gifts.

And if you enjoy their homewares on offer – be sure to walk a little further up the road to their sister store, which has clothes from Country Road and Witchery stocked.

Goomalling’s Lot 39 Café also has an outdoor area. It’s a delightful spot to soak up this rural town while enjoying the best of city-style coffee, gourmet treats, and a charming shopping experience. If you find yourself in Goomalling, make sure to stop by Lot 39 and experience the warmth and hospitality that this charming wheatbelt community has to offer.
