If you’re looking for a different experience to a hotel, Retreat on Roxburgh offers a relaxing home-away from home bush getaway, just 5 minutes from Margaret River town! In April, we spent 4 blissful days at Retreat on Roxburgh, which is also just 5 minutes’ drive to Prevely beach. The modern two bedroom property oozes with character, from its timber floors, soaring ceiling, tasteful decoration and more. We loved it so much we went back again in October. Retreat on Roxburgh, with its timber horse statue sitting proudly out the front, retains a bushland feel. Saying that, it is only minutes from the convenience of Margaret River Town and the amazing local wineries.
The house features open plan living, a gourmet kitchen, a well-appointed bathroom, a cosy mezzanine TV room and two bedrooms with very comfy beds. We found the nightly rate very reasonable for what is included.

The stunning country kitchen is well equipped, there’s also a large dining table and bar table to sit at and gaze at the horses.

Outside, there’s a BBQ on the deck for cooking in the great outdoors, an alfresco dining table, overlooking landscaped gardens, paddocks and bushland.

The house is perfect for a getaway for up to 4 people. The king single beds in Bedroom 2 can be configured into a queen.

The bathroom features a bath, separate shower, as well as a heater and towel warmer – essential during those South West winters!

Another winter necessity is the wood fireplace. This heats up the house so well. As heat rises, it makes the second floor mezzanine TV room very toasty indeed!

Other handy inclusions:
- Wifi internet
- Breakfast hamper inc milk
- Fresh towels & linen
The property is close to many wineries and attractions. We had delicious lunches at both Xanadu and Watershed while we stayed there.
Retreat on Roxburgh is owned by Annie, who lives there in the annexe. Her beautiful Dalmatian, Cooper, will greet you when you arrive and love pats. Her three gorgeous horses are in the surrounding paddocks, and you’re welcome to pat them too if they pop their heads over the fence.

We were made so welcome by Annie and we’ll certainly be back again – it’s a magical spot.
