If you’re in the mood for a seafood feast in Perth, The Cray offers up huge seafood platters. I checked out the recent refurbishment at the Innaloo venue. Known for its opulent fit-outs and abundant seafood menus, The Cray is a good place to indulge in pub-style seafood eats. The original Cray was found in Belmont, now there are seven Crays around WA, including one coming soon to Mandurah.
There’s plenty of drink options, and the Cray seems to be particularly popular for its cocktails and mocktails.
Offering up a seafood-heavy menu for lunch and dinner – there are many options for those who like to dine on fish and crustaceans. If you’re not a seafood lover, there are a few options of steak, chicken parmi, salad and more. Currently, they also offer a senior-friendly weekday 3-course lunch special for $49.90pp.
Their large seafood platter “The Cray Platter” ($165), was a feast for the eyes and stomach. Best shared between two, Jen and I dug into the platter which was loaded with one whole mornay crayfish, creamy garlic prawns, spicy chili mussels, prawn and scallop skewers, natural oysters, Moreton Bay Bugs, fish fillets, squid, potatoes (chips for non GF), and salad. This platter was served for a gluten free request, so without a few of the usual deep fried battered options. I particularly enjoyed the tender squid.
I don’t know how we fit in dessert, but we somehow managed to finish our massive dinner on a sweet note.
We enjoyed a classic crème brulèe and moist chocolate brownie.
The newly refurbished space is light, airy, and modern, with a casual vibe, good for a post movie lunch or dinner with friends or family, as it’s found next to Event Cinemas. The staff are friendly and very attentive. If you’re after a seafood meal in an opulent setting, be sure to visit The Cray in Innaloo. With its revamped venue and plentiful seafood, be sure to catch a table there soon.
