The Vineyard Kitchen, Bickley TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The Vineyard Kitchen

Living less than 10 minutes from the beautiful Bickley Valley, I’ve pretty much visited every boutique winery, café and restaurant. We’ve left one of the very best for last – The Vineyard Kitchen at Brookside Vineyard. It’s in a very beautiful part of Perth, we were blown away with the orange autumn leaves.

Found in an old shed, we were very lucky to get a table at the very popular restaurant. Be sure to book at table for lunch, it’s only open Friday to Sunday. There was a roaring wood fire in a corner, and the atmosphere was just as warm.

On Fridays, there’s a very reasonably priced set menu with plenty of choice, just $50 for three courses. We found the service to be really helpful and friendly. Of course, the wine list is made up of tipples from the Brookside venues. We enjoyed a wonderfully crisp and full-bodied rose. There’s beer, tea, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks also available.

The Vineyard Kitchen

For entrée we enjoyed chorizo, with smoked almonds, goats cheese and honey. The dish was deliciously sweet and meaty.

We particularly loved the sherry braised pork cheeks, with almonds and crusty baguette.

Mains were just as delicious. Twice cooked duck leg with raddichio, fennel, chicory and orange was so tasty (gf).

The Vineyard Kitchen

We really enjoyed the spiced lamb shoulder and feta parcel, served with a light green salad.

It was huge and packed with mid-eastern flavours, drizzled with a little mint yogurt.

The Vineyard Kitchen

We had just enough room for dessert! A dark chocolate peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream was decadent.

The Vineyard Kitchen

An orange and almond cake with Greek yogurt (gf) was moist and delicious.

The Vineyard Kitchen

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Vineyard Kitchen and will absolutely be back for more.
