Found along the picturesque Claisebrook Cove in East Perth, Toast offers the perfect blend of all day dining and good coffee. This tiny waterfront spot has become a favorite among locals seeking both top-notch caffeine and a pretty vista to sit back and enjoy.
The café’s outdoor tables, shaded by umbrellas, have views over the inlet of the Swan River where boats gently bob on the water, pretty townhouses line the banks, Optus Stadium looms and walking paths invite post-coffee strolls.
Toast’s all day brunch menu caters to diverse tastes with hearty breakfast classics, wraps, crepes, and indulgent loaded banana bread. Check out their cabinet for sweet treats too. Their coffee is always spot on. I’ll have to try their food too!
The ease of ordering via QR code is another highlight for me. I often have my dog in-tow for a walk, so this cuts the worry of not being able to enter a café to order. The café is very dog friendly, and dog lovers are sure to see plenty of pooches there.

The flat, well-maintained pathways surrounding the cove are perfect for leisurely walks regardless of mobility level. There are just a few slopes upwards towards the pedestrian bridge, if you choose to cross that, and make the walk into a short loop, that would only be about 1km in length.
There is plenty of paid parking around, on the street and in designated car parks. I’d recommend parking in City of Perth spots, not private car parks (like Wilson), as it is a little cheaper. Whether you’re meeting friends for a catch-up breakfast or treating yourself to a solo coffee and treat with a view, Toast provides the perfect setting. Come for the excellent coffee, stay for a bite to eat and enjoy the water views longer, and leave feeling refreshed after a gentle walk around Claisebrook Cove.
