Wild Hop Brewing Company, Yallingup

If you love to share food over a beer or two, be sure to make Wild Hop Brewing Company in Yallingup a lunch stop on your next trip south. The family-run brewery in the Margaret River region, is found in a lovely setting, overlooking s dam. Wild Hop is very popular, so be sure to either book well in advance or turn up early for a walk-in table.

The shady deck and grassy beer garden have plenty of tables that overlook a picture-perfect dam. There’s casual chairs, regular tables and high bar-style tables and stools.

If your brewery staples are burgers, pizzas and parmis – you may be disappointed. They’re not found on the menu here. If you’re a food-lover you will LOVE the menu, at Wild Hop, the kitchen dares to be a little different to all the other breweries in the area. The food is excellent. There are plenty of tasty dishes on the menu. Their free-range rotisserie chicken is a crowd-favourite. Their Beetroot Salad is also a winner. I particularly relished the very saucy lamb ribs.

While others on my table devoured a brisket baguette.

And the huge deep fried pickles need to be seen (and tried) to be believed! Of course, this is best washed down with a tasting paddle of Wild Hop brews.

Quality wines and locally crafted soft drinks (the pink lemon lime bitters is a winner) are also available.

Do you have grandies in tow? The quirky and shady playground will guarantee that they are well-occupied.

If you’re in the Dunsborough / Yallingup area, be sure to put Wild Hop Brewing Company on your dining list. I’ve visited three times, and I’ll be back for more!
