Bush Shack Brewery, Ferguson

Bush Shack Brewery is found in the emerging wine region of the Ferguson Valley. This spot with rolling hills and valleys is a hop, skip and jump from Bunbury and well worth delving into. If you’re not into wine, a couple of craft breweries offer a casual spot for a pint, one being the Bush Shack Brewery.

Just a short drive from Dardanup (home of the renowned Dardanup Baker), Bush Shack Brewery beckons beer lovers with its rustic charm and warm welcome. This off the beaten track gem is a brewery that offers good food, beer, that laid-back country WA atmosphere and a little quirkiness. We left a cap to add to its hat collection.

Bush Shack Brewery is mainly an outdoor venue, with tiered (and covered) decking which overlooks sprawling lawns. This expansive outdoor space provides the perfect setting for families to unwind and enjoy a little quality time together.

If you have grandkids in tow, they have plenty of space to run freely on the grass with a ball or play on the climbing frame, while the adults soak in the surroundings.

Order at the bar, inside the brewery, where the staff are chatty, friendly and make you feel right at home. There’s even a unique round pool table for a game or two over a cold beer.

Bush Shack Brewery has many handcrafted brews to try, from crisp lagers to interesting fruity beers – there’s something to suit every palate. Pair your brew with one of the brewery’s pub-style dishes. Their menu features hearty burgers, fish and chips, salads, and other favorites. Mr H enjoyed his crisp fish and chips washed down with a lager.

I couldn’t finish the generous portion of smoked salmon salad served with pear, toasted walnuts, spinach, radish, roquette and a mango & dill dressing. It was fresh and very tasty.

There’s a kid’s menu too, offering yummy options to satisfy even the pickiest of little eaters. Colouring books and pencils are available for kids to use at the tables.

Bush Shack Brewery in Ferguson Valley fits the bill for those seeking good food, beer, and a casual feel. With its expansive lawns, kid-friendly amenities, and relaxed atmosphere, Bush Shack Brewery is the perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon in the Ferguson Valley.
