Dawson’s Garden World Forrestfield

Found in the Perth foothills, Dawson’s Garden World Forrestfield is a fantastic plant nursery that’s been around for over a century! Green thumbs are sure to find a plant to take home to their own garden when they visit. Here gardening enthusiasts can pick up seedlings, outdoor ornaments or simply enjoy a stroll and get a little inspiration for your own piece of paradise. If you need a little help, the friendly staff are very knowledgeable and happy to assist.

At the entrance, there’s a large selection of indoor plants, pots and giftware.

Outside, the nursery is set out in sections… ground covers, fruit trees, succulents, herbs and vegetable seedlings…

Dotted through the garden centre are mini display gardens which provide ideas on design and planting, as well as showcasing the many plants that are available to buy. There are many different themes including formal, Japanese, water gardens and more.

At Dawson’s there’s a lovely café to enjoy a cuppa.

Service is very friendly, we found the girls that work there an absolute delight! Found in the original home of the Dawson family, the 1930s café has plenty of seating.

We had a lovely hot cup of coffee. There are also tea, hot chocolate, and a selection of soft drinks.

A small menu of snacks, light lunches and sweet treats. The café is open seven days a week, 10am to 3pm.

Outside there’s also a large covered dining area.

Dogs are welcome at Dawson’s, as long as they’re kept on a leash. If you’re taking the grandkids along, they will love Dawson’s too. There’s a tractor to sit on, as well as a merry go round, which goes quite fast, so keep an eye on little ones. There’s even a mini maze, which my grandson loved! It only suitable for children 10 and under or those who are very short!
