Topolinis Caffe, Warwick

Topolinis Caffe

Topolinis Caffe in Warwick Grove Shopping Centre is the best kind of local restaurant โ€“ there is good food, good staff, itโ€™s very accessible and it’s not too expensive.

Topolinis Caffe

The restaurant is at the back of the shopping centre in the Grand Cinema entertainment complex and the ladies in our senior group enjoyed an after cinema meal mid-week. Since you ask, we had been to see Judy โ€“ the story of Frances Gumm aka superstar Judy Garland. It was an excellent film and I am sure an Oscar nomination will be heading in the direction of leading lady, Renee Zelwegger.

Back to the Topolinis โ€“ three of us decided on the Thursday special โ€“ steak, chips and salad. Rump steak was the cheapest option at $20 but we decided that the sirloin at $23 would be better. Good choice. The steak was full of flavour, cooked and seasoned well. The dish came with side dressing for the fresh salad and a sauce for the steak.

Our pescatarian member chose the Fettuccine Gamberi ($26) โ€“ sautรฉed prawns tossed with Napoli sauce and cream and the last dish was a Penne with chicken, bacon and broccoli also tossed in Napoli sauce with cream ($25). The pasta dishes were huge and some were taken home with us. It is good to see a restaurant serving generous portions rather than the outdated nouvelle cuisine that seems to be popular in some suburbs.

Service was efficient and friendly and seating was comfortable, although cushions are available if patrons find the rattan too hard.

The restaurant has specials every day including a Chicken parmi for $20 every Wednesday and a Sunday special pizza for $17.50. These specials are not available with any other offer including the Entertainment card and the Grand card.

Topolinis Caffe is definitely recommended. It also does takeaways and caters for larger groups. It is open for dinner seven days a week and for lunches on Fridays and Sundays.

There is loads of 4-hour parking, including Acrod parking around the cinema or in the Warwick Grove parking area.

If you like Italian food and feel hungry after going shopping or to the cinema then Topolinis is the place to go!
