As the old adage goes, “Location, Location, Location”! I recently stayed at Bay Village Resort Dunsborough, and I can wholeheartedly say that it would be hard to beat this location in the heart of Dunsborough. We enjoyed a weekend stay in the town found on the serene coastline of Geographe Bay, and this resort provided us with a perfect blend of comfort and convenience.
My partner and I stayed in a luxurious “Room B” apartment featuring a king bed, a kitchen, and a cosy living area. The spa ensuite was a real bonus, making our stay even more relaxing. We were particularly impressed with how clean the apartment was and the amenities including air-conditioning, a fridge, large TV (easily watched from bed), and access to free Wi-Fi. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, including champagne glasses.
The king size bed was very comfortable, and the mattress leant towards being on the firmer side. I found the room quiet, only occasionally hearing people walking by on the neighboring street.
The apartment has a common entry foyer between rooms, which includes a washer and dryer, and an iron and ironing board, making it very convenient for longer stays. Weekly linen changes are available for long stays. Other apartment accommodation options available at the resort:
- Room A: A Queen Room with a spa ensuite for singles or couples looking for a comfortable hotel-style experience.
- Room C: A loft with a queen bed and an ensuite with a shower. It’s worth noting that it’s not suitable for children under 12 or people with mobility issues, as it’s up two flights of stairs.
One of the highlights of our stay was having the amenities of the resort and town right on our doorstep. We enjoyed drinks at the on-site bar, The Pourhouse. The service here was really friendly and there are plenty of local craft beers and wines on tap.
There’s also a Thai restaurant, which seemed popular, on site.
The outdoor garden and decking area is lovely and lush. Here you’ll find a BBQ area too.
For families, the small children’s play area provides a space for kids to play.
Check-in at the resort was smooth and hassle-free, starting at 2pm. Check out is by 10am on the departure day. The resort provides start-up amenities like toilet paper, milk, tea, coffee, shampoo, and conditioner, making it easy to settle in right away. The apartment is up stairs, on the first floor, so not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Located in the heart of Dunsborough, the resort is ideally situated for exploring the town, beach and its beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the beach, and charming local boutiques and cafes. Nothing is further than a couple of minutes’ walk away, meaning I had the weekend off being designated driver – which I loved! I particularly enjoyed Bungalow, Pourhouse and Occys, as places to enjoy a bite to eat and/or a drink.
Our stay at Bay Village Resort Dunsborough was really enjoyable. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a solo adventure, I recommend Bay Village Resort Dunsborough as your home away from home in this beautiful part of the world. I’d definitely stay there again.
