Bindoon Bakehaus and Cafe is a very popular spot with locals and travelers, and after enjoying some of it’s freshly baked products I can understand its popularity.
Our Seniors group of ten arranged to meet at the Bakehaus for morning tea/late breakfast on our way to the Wheatbelt last week.
Bindoon is about an hour north of Perth and very easy to reach via the new North Link road.
A modern-looking building with inside and outside seating, Bindoon Bakehaus is a busy place. Customers queue (socially distanced of course) at the counter to choose and pay for their goodies, which are then delivered to tables.
My husband and I shared a cheese and ham toastie ($8.50), which was one of the best we have eaten while others in our group enjoyed sausage rolls and jam doughnuts. On our way home from our Wheatbelt trip we again ordered ham and cheese toasties – this time we had one each! We also took two coffee éclairs ($5.80 each) with us and thoroughly enjoyed them for our afternoon tea. The éclairs can be vouched for by no less a personage than Prince Harry who apparently stopped in at Bindoon Bakehaus for a banoffee éclair in his pre-Meghan days.
As well as an astonishing array of freshly baked bread and rolls, including a gluten-free section, the Bakehaus provides filled baguettes, wraps, croissants and made-to-order gourmet sandwiches. Cakes and tarts are temptingly displayed and the café menu has salads, pizzas, pies and quiches – definitely something for everyone.
There is a Kiddies Bakery for children aged two to eight. It has a play oven, baking bench and utensils, coloured bread dough (fresh daily), a blackboard and wooden toys.
There is also a providore showcasing coffee and jams as well as a small gift shop that provides a distraction from all the food on offer.
Don’t miss the Bindoon Bakehaus and café on your travels; it is definitely worth a visit.
