Chin Chin Gastronomy Review
Chin Chin Gastronomy on Canning Highway in Como is a relatively new kid on the block having been open for less than a year but has certainly made a big name for itself in fine dining circles.
Head chef and owner Chin Tao who has an impressive pedigree, latterly of C Restaurant followed his dream and along with another chef from C restaurant has created a fine dining fusion experience tucked away on a little corner in Como.
I went when it first opened as I’d heard on the grapevine that it was going to be something quite special and was extremely impressed by the wonderfully innovative menus. The combination of textures and flavours, the presentation, everything was sensational.
I’ve returned several times since and each time have experienced the same high quality.
The restaurant decor here is modern and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere.
Two degustation menus are available to choose from, three courses for $68 and for five courses $89, both of which are excellent value for money.
Included in the menu is the most beautiful homemade bread served with whipped herby butter, but I do try not to fill up on this too much as there’s plenty more to come.
Chef brought us an oyster and scallop entrée that he’s working on for his new menu for us to try and it was not only visually exciting but the flavours were a delight.
I could wax lyrical about every single dish to be honest, but trust me, they’re all terrific, from the meltingly soft beef cheek, the juicy pink lamb, the flaky succulent snapper to the exquisite dark chocolate and passion fruit bomb…
In addition to all the courses on our menu we were served a palate cleanser of green apple, rockmelon and watermelon in a lemon tea, this was lovely, so fresh and fruity.
The staff here are a pleasure too, friendly, efficient and well versed in sharing their knowledge of each dish.
Not only is there a selection of both soft and alcoholic drinks available it is also BYO.
I rolled home after having enjoyed yet again, in my opinion, the best fine dining menu in Perth.
