I was at Currambine Central shopping Centre, heading to a sweet little spot for a coffee (Red Retro), when I discovered that it has been taken over by new owners and is now known as Echo Café. Found right behind the very popular Chapters Restaurant, the quaint little café is a welcome change from the usual shopping center offering of chain-coffee stores.
While there are echos (see what I did there) of the old cafe, with mismatched furniture giving it a cottage café feel, it has a slightly different offering. There are plenty of tables, as well as sofas, with low tables, perfect for a quick drink. Highchairs are available for the little ones. A small leafy courtyard also offers plenty of places to sit on a fine day.
On the menu are home-style bites like soup, salads, toasties and other easy snacks which are very reasonably priced. Breakfast is available too, with waffles and more on the menu. There is also a display cabinet brimming with cakes and slices.
I was running errands, so on this occasion stopped by to grab a quick take away flat white. I can confirm their coffee is good. It may even give you wings!
Echo Café in Currambine is a lovely little coffee shop, which also doubles as a gift store. A perfect spot for a cuppa and cake or even a light bite to eat before shopping or visiting the neighbouring Hoyts cinemas for a movie.
