We recently went to the Whale and Ale pub in Clarkson for a family lunch.

It’s a large pub so could easily accommodate our party of 11 including 3 little ones.
They have a reasonable menu for lunch including pasta dishes, steak, parmi and burgers.
With a separate children’s menu.
I had a rump steak which included chips, salad and a sauce of your choice. The meal was cooked and presented nice and hot and our whole family got their food in a timely manner. The service was great and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals.
There was a nice fire burning which gave a lovely warm feeling for these chilly winter days.
There is a large children’s play room with a few toys and a tv, unfortunately we could not turn the tv on but the kids didn’t seem to mind.
There is a decent outside area for summer time with an outdoor children’s area as well.
They have great specials nights including:

There were no senior discounts that we could see, however the meals seemed reasonably priced and the portions good. The dessert menu looked amazing, but maybe for another time!
They also have lots of fun activities and weekly events including Whale of Fortune – every Wednesday…

and Karaoke every Friday.
They also put on major sporting events in their sports bar and host special occasions such as Valentines Day Dinner Specials for 2, Mothers Day luncheonsand even children’s activities like their recent Kids Easter Disco. Be sure to go to their Facebook page and website for these.

Overall I really enjoyed our lunch at the Whale and Ale and would definitely go again.
