National ANZAC Centre Albany
The National ANZAC Centre is an absolute must-do in the Great Southern region. The museum tells a poignant tale of the ANZACs, who left from Albanyโs King George Sound for World War One. The grounds are free to visit, and thereโs many things to look at (large artillery pieces, memorials and the view), as well as a large gift shop and cafรฉ. Itโs easy to spend a whole day there. Albanyโs Historic Whaling Station
Discovery Bay is home to Albanyโs Historic Whaling Station. Operating for almost 26 years, the spot where Australiaโs last whale was harpooned has now been turned into a museum all about the coastal townโs whaling history. The Brig Amity brought the first white settlers to Albany on Christmas Day in 1826. Cycle Path Emu Point to Middleton Beach, Albany
