Fonty’s Pool, Chalets and Caravan Park, Manjimup

In today’s fast and furious world, do you ever yearn for more simple times? Remember when you used to go on holiday with Mum and Dad and you spent long summer days playing outside in the fresh air, swimming in the lake and riding your bike? None of the modern day entertainments that our grandchildren seem to need; all man-made, purpose-built, with no imagination required.

Staying at Fonty’s Pool in Manjimup will return you to those simpler times. The park is a haven; sprawling lawns shaded by towering trees with large and spacious bays for your caravan or tent.

The swimming pool alongside the park is a famous local landmark and is a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic or to sit in an evening to watch the sunset. The freshwater pool is open daily at a cost of $3 entry, but if you are staying at the park then entry is included in the cost of your accommodation, and if you are feeling a little too lazy to swim then you can simply float around on one of the inflated tractor inner tubes.

In addition to caravan and camping sites, there are also cabins and chalets available. The cabins overlook the pool and gardens and can accommodate 5/6 people, or if you have a bigger group, you can rent the original managers cottage that sleeps up to 10 people.

There are two campers kitchens, that like the rest of the park, have a lovely rustic feel, and the larger of them has a huge open fire to cosy up around on a chilly winters evening.

There is no jumping pillow or games room, but there is a nice nature playground with an old tractor and boat where children can let their imagination run riot farming the land or rescuing sailors in distress.

The park is pet-friendly if staying in your own accommodation or one of the standard cabins, but not in the chalets. There are exceptions though, as pets are not allowed at New Year, Australia Day LWE, Easter or during the Truffle Kerfuffle.

Although tucked away in the countryside, Fonty’s Pool is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas and is only around a 5-minute drive into Manjimup.
