The Hive Darlington

The Hive Darlington

The Hive Cafe in Darlington is found tucked away in the beautiful Perth Hills. If youโ€™re out and about enjoying a drive in the hills, or visiting John Forrest National Park, you may be looking for somewhere for brunch or lunch. Since the local kangarooโ€™s favour watering hole โ€œThe Wildflower Tavernโ€ at the national park has closed down, this cafรฉ is an ideal spot for a refreshing cup of coffee and a bite to eat, when in the area.ย As you step inside the cafe, youโ€™ll find a spacious spot with plenty of tables and a counter covered in freshly baked treats. The smiling staff are ready to serve you a warming latte or a mouth-watering sweet treat โ€“ whatever takes your fancy.

In the cabinet, youโ€™ll find sweet and savoury goodies fresh from the oven.

If you enjoy a clean eating style diet, thatโ€™s food that is cooked from scratch, rather than mass-produced food that contains added chemicals, The Hive has got you covered. Established by the lovely Frankie from the “Additive Free Kids” blog, a mother with a penchant for clean eating, the menu will surely have something to tickle those health-conscious tastebuds.

We sat outside on the dog-friendly deck. You may want to keep in mind this is frequented by cut local quendas (Bandicoots), if your dogs like to chase furry things like mine does.

The coffee is good and the sweet snacks also stack up. I really loved the choc-orange brownie. Served warm, with cream.

Our brunch was delicious. The chorizo bean dish with perfectly poached runny eggs and toast, is simply divine. Iโ€™d like to head back to try more of their menu.

If you have grandkids in tow, thereโ€™s a small toy corner indoors, plus a small playground right across the road, for those who prefer to take away their coffee to enjoy outdoors.

The next time you fancy a delightful day out in the Perth Hills, be sure to make your way to The Hive Cafe Darlington. Scrumptious bites, great coffee and sweet local wildlife await!
