The Wanneroo Swap Meet is a large open-air market located at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, off Noonan Drive. It is open every Sunday from 7am to 11am, weather permitting.
Swap meets have been around since the early 1900s and originated in the United States. They were originally created as a way for farmers to trade goods and services without having to travel far from home. Over time, swap meets evolved into public events that anyone could attend, and they became popular places to find bargains on new and used items. Today, swap meets are still a popular destination for bargain hunters, and they offer a unique opportunity to browse through a wide variety of items in one place.
Wanneroo Swap Meet is a charity-operated organisation run by the Nollamara RSL to help RSL Veterans in Crisis to assist the community.
The Swap Meet is a great place to find bargains on everything from clothes and books, to furniture and electrical goods. However, it’s important to remember that not everything at the Swap Meet is second-hand. There are a lot of new items for sale too, including fresh produce to plants.
You can even get your tarot reading done!
You can also find plenty of food and drink vendors at the Swap Meet, so you can refuel after a busy morning of shopping. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and it’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
How much is it to attend Wanneroo Swap Meet?
Entry is $2 for buyers and children under 12 are free. If you wish to sell fees are $10 per bay or $15 with a trailer. If you are selling there is no need to book a spot in advance. You just rock up and pay the fee on the day.
Swap Meet – Tips for sellers
Looking to make a bit of extra cash by selling some of your unwanted items? The Wanneroo Swap Meet is a great place to sell your unwanted items. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your selling experience:
1. Do your research – it’s important to know how much your items are worth before you start sell them. This will help you price them correctly and avoid getting ripped off.
2. Arrive early to set up your stall. This will give you the best chance to attract buyers.
3. Make sure your items are priced clearly. buyers will be put off if they can’t see how much your items cost.
4. Be prepared to haggle. Buyers will often try to negotiate on price, so be ready to bargain.
5. Keep your stall tidy and organised. This will make it more inviting for potential customers.
6. Be friendly and approachable. buyers are more likely to buy from someone they feel comfortable dealing with.
7. Be patient!
With these tips in mind, you’re sure to have a successful day selling at the Wanneroo Swap Meet. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start making some money!
Swap Meet – Tips for Buyers
Wanneroo Swap Meet is a great place to find deals on everything from clothes to car parts. If you’re a first-time buyer, here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your experience:
1. Get there early. The best deals will be had early in the day before the crowds start to pick over everything.
2. Bring cash: Most stallholders won’t have EFTPOS facilities, so bring plenty of cash. There are ATMs on site, but they can be quite expensive to use.
3. Know what you’re looking for. There’s a lot to see at the swap meet, so it helps to have an idea of what you’re looking for before you start browsing.
4. haggle! Don’t be afraid to negotiate on prices – it’s expected (and part of the fun!). When bargaining, always start low and work your way up. This will give you room to negotiate and hopefully get the item at a lower price.
5. Always inspect the item carefully before buying it. Make sure there are no damages and that it is exactly what you’re looking for.
6. If you’re not sure about an item, don’t be afraid to ask the seller questions. They should be able to tell you everything you need to know about the item.
7.. Be prepared to carry your purchases. There are no bags or carts available for rent at the swap meet, so come prepared with your own way to carry everything you buy.
Whether you’re looking for a bargain or just enjoy browsing through stalls full of interesting things, the Wanneroo Swap Meet is definitely worth a visit.
