If you have a passion for spring blooms, head to the hills and smell the roses at Melvilles Rose n Garden. This nursery specialises in roses and some years ago was the rose farm found at the Masonmill site. The award winning garden centre, just off Welshpool Road, is one of the best spots in Perth to find the perfect rose for your garden.
The fantastic range of quality rose bushes (including climbing roses) includes many unusual and rare varieties – in a multitude of mesmerising colours. Late spring is a lovely time to visit, when the flowers are blooming. We visited in October, and what a treat it was – the perfumed air was an absolute delight.
The established nursery, is a third generation family run business and a lovely place around the beautifully manicured cottage-style gardens. There’s inspiration for your own garden at every turn.
As well as roses, there are other cottage garden plants on sale. We particularly love their pretty salvias. These will brighten up any garden.
If you have a veggie patch, there is a small selection of vegetable and herb seedlings for sale. Inside the shed you can stock up on garden supplies – fertilizer, potting mix, weed killer, manure and more. There’s lots of rose-specific products too.
