Is there really anything better than coffee in a bookstore? The Millpoint Caffe Bookshop is in a lovely purple building that you simply can’t miss. Based on Mill Point Road, enter this location and take a seat amongst the bookshelves.

While you’re there, sip on a coffee and get entirely in the books of the pages. You can even enjoy a cake on the side if you’re looking for something sweet!

Our Ruby Girl

Our Ruby Girl is a super cool little gem just a hop, skip, and a step outside of South Perth. This spot is well-loved as it promotes both sustainable and ethical practices making it a winner in the eyes of many. This café is dedicated to a zero-waste environment and uses only the best local produce.

Better yet, this spot is an Equal Opportunity Employer and hires people with a disability. The interior of this location boasts local, colourful Aussie flora and warm woods. The seasonal menu is full of goodies which makes it even harder to pick something.

We definitely recommend dishes such as house-cured salmon, juniper berry salsa, pan-fried gnocchi, and focaccia with native thyme.

Gusto Food

This list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Gusto Food. This spot is very well-loved by locals and visitors alike. Famous for its massive portion sizes and stacked homemade crumpets, Gusto Food is always packed.

If you spot a free seat, run, don’t walk, because it won’t be free for long! Make sure you try out the coffee while you’re here as it is just insanely good. You will also love how friendly the service is.

Secret Garden Café & Patisserie

If you aren’t keen on great coffee and delicious food, the Secret Garden Café & Patisserie is worth visiting even just for the location! While it may look like a simple café on the outside, you will be transported to an oasis as soon as you step foot inside. You can sit back and relax amongst the greenery and shady trees as you watch the day go by.

This spot also offers up amazingly fresh breakfast and lunch options, as well as slices and cakes. Using Five Senses coffee, you know these guys serve up some amazing brew. The Secret Garden Cafe is one of the best cafes in South Perth.

The Little Banksia

While this spot is technically in Kensington, it is super close to South Perth and very much worth being mentioned. This spot offers up a really cool all-day menu that is insanely good. The buttermilk pancakes are super fluffy and will look great on your Instagram story.

The Little Banksia offers plenty of loved and classic breakfast options with a little twist. The chicken burger is also very exciting and delicious too. The Little Banksia really is the ideal place to grab a coffee and a delicious meal.

The Acai Corner is a super cool food truck based on the South Perth foreshore. This spot specialises in healthy and natural acai bowls that will keep you coming back for more! You can pop in after you’ve taken a nice walk along the edge of the Swan River for a guilt-free stop.
