For those who live in the Wanneroo and Joondalup areas, they already know that Leapfrogs is a tasty spot to dine. Found at the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens, the eatery has been a consistently good place for a meal for many years. Mark Gill, the former head chef of Little Creatures and his wife Karin run a tight ship and the venue is described as “much nicer than a pub… and kinda like a restaurant… but simply a great place to stop, eat, drink and make friends.” – I’d definitely agree!

Leapfrogs has tables inside and out. I always like to sit on the expansive covered deck, which overlooks the gardens. It’s great for groups too. There are fans in summer and heaters in the cooler months, so it’s comfortable year-round. Be sure to sit back and enjoy your drink of choice whilst going through the menu.

Specialising in wood-fired pizza, there’s an extensive menu of other crowd favourites (like burgers and salads) too. They offer gluten-free options, as well as catering for vegetarians, vegans and there’s a children’s menu too. Mr H and the kids shared a couple of meat lovers pizzas.

I enjoyed the fish of the day – a very tasty and perfectly cooked barramundi. Served with ratatouille and delicious chips.

For dessert, I squeezed in a rich flourless chocolate cake with pistachio ice-cream.

While the boys share a speciality of Leapfrogs – a dessert pizza! This was a big hit and topped with marshmallows and chocolate sauce.

Breakfast, lunch, plus coffee and cake are also popular at Leapfrogs.

After your tasty meal, be sure to take a wander around the beautifully manicured gardens, or enjoy a game of mini golf (glow night golf also available).

Leapfrogs hosts live music, comedy nights and other events. Be sure to leap on over to Leapfrogs for your next family get together.
