Another day dawned for another coffee and croissant.
Today I was at Whisked the Right Wei, a relatively new place in Lathlain which opened just a month and a half ago and it is well worth seeking out. This gorgeous patisserie is run by pasty chef Deric Fong – also known as Wei. Wei learnt his craft under the late Emmanuel Mollois, WA’s most celebrated pastry chef.

Everything is made in-house and looked so fresh and delicious. Many of treats are created using Mollois’ recipes with a Wei’s own spin on it.

As usual, I was spoilt for choice until I noticed the almond croissant beckoning to me.

It was gorgeous! Flaky pastry with a rich almond paste filling, just as it should be, not custard.

This went very well indeed with an excellent long macchiato.

The service is super friendly and it seems to be a nice buzzy little place.

A return visit in the near future is on the cards as those raspberry and blueberry tarts looked absolutely ravishing!
